This is definitely one of Animal Collective's best songs, and unfortunately it cant be recreated by just a guitar, but here is the skeleton of the song and you can try adding in whatever instruments or sounds you like! Intro: I choose to play sixteenth notes on the D string and strum the other parts of the chord in a unpredictable fashion, and after each line of singing strum the whole chord powerfully, but thats just my way of playing it. Here's the chord you stay on the whole time. e|-------| B|----9--| G|----x--| D|----6--| A|----x--| E|----0--| If you play a harmonic on the 7th fret of the A string it sounds nice too. Towards the end of the intro I like to start strumming the whole chord to the rhythm of rim of the snare. Rest of the song: It follows a pattern the whole time through, save the beiginning of this part. Give each chord two measures. e|------- then to e|------- then to e|------- then to e|-------| B|----9-- B|----10- B|----9-- B|----5--| G|----X-- G|----X-- G|----X-- G|----X--| D|----6-- D|----7-- D|----6-- D|----2--| A|----X-- A|----X-- A|----X-- A|----X--| E|----0-- E|----0-- E|----0-- E|----0--| After that, this pattern of chords will go on through the rest of the song. Again, give two measures for each chord e|-------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|----9-------10-----12-----10-----9-----5---------------------------------| G|----X-------X------X------X------X-----X---------------------------------| D|----6-------7------9------7------6-----2---------------------------------| A|----X-------X------X------X------X-----X---------------------------------| E|----0-------0------0------0------0-----0---------------------------------| Just keep those chords going. Start to fade away on the chord that you started on. Hope you figure out!
